For the past hour or so I listened to all the talking heads giving their take on Palin's
announcement that she is stepping down as Governor of Alaska and I don't buy any of them!

I think it's simple!

Sarah Palin got a taste of celebrity and the money that goes with it and I think she made the decision
to strike while the iron is hot.

She really has very little chance of winning the Presidency in 2012 so why not get out of Alaska and
make a ton of money. She can make a fortune with speeches, her book and maybe even her own
political show on Fox!

What do you think?

I don't know about you but if I had a choice of making millions of dollars, while traveling first class around the Country giving speeches or spending the next few years busting hump, to try and make a possible run for President I would say:

Show me the money!!!

Maybe it is true, but not a particularly bad thing.

We have/had politicians in office who were previously singers, actors and comedians. If Sarah Palin wants to go the other way, good for her.

Personally, I think she is prepping to run for Congress in 2010.

If her objective was a 2012 run for POTUS, she would have been better off finishing her term as governor and simply announcing that she would not re-run for office.

To quit after 2 1/2 years in her first term as governor suggests a person who cannot multitask, handle the pressures that come with the job (working with the legislature, dealing with the press, etc), and someone who is more interesting in being in the spotlight and waving to the crowds than she is in being a serious political force.

I just think after being in the spotlight it must be kinda hard to go back Alaska and be out of the loop.

If she was Governor of any of the lower 48 she could do both but hell Alaska is almost a world away!

hmm, so if it was North Dakota in January you think this pompous, self-centered indivdual would be running for anything?

I wouldn't say this in another forum but Sarah Paln was and is worthless as far as contributing to the human race. She is apparently very family driven, but does not care about anyone beyond her family. That's okay if your family is perfect? Her's, as stated, is not.. And she spent 18 months of wasted resources when her daughter told her o just stop 18 months ago.

She is a fine person in her own mind but should not be considered in any public forum as caring or considering of others.

Will probably be slammed for saying this but for me she had nothing to do with Alaska.

Her personal life was in disarray and based on the state investigation, she used resources to attack others that she would not have if she were not a governor. Not the governor of Alaska, but a governor.

People who use their position for non-governmental uses are rampant throughout the world. I didn't want her as a #1 or #2 way before she was in that election.

It has nothing to do with her position or failure to fulfill her position in an acceptable manner. She should not be an elected official and she knows it; that is why she is resigning...

Alaska is still an excellent example of a free state of the USA, despite this critical management.

I said it earlier........McCain thought he could win the chess match that was the election with selecting Palin.............

Without the presence of forethought he unleashed this Pandora's box on the rest of us......

And now it wont be about Alaska....it will be about her and the swath of stupidity she projectile vomits across this country.

Palin suffers from "Blues Brothers Complex".

She thinks she's on a mission from God. Therefore she is not beholden to the mundanities of her gubernatorial obligations.

Palin claims that she left office before finishing her first term because she desires to "serve a higher calling" (what ever that might be). Basically, this is Palin-spin for "my current job has become a ball-and-chain holding me back from pursuing my personal ambitions and my desires to attain greater wealth and political clout in the lower 48".
